Crazy Love is one of my favorite Kdramas I have watched this year.
It's got at least 3 of my favorite Kdrama ingredients:
- Boss and employee love
- Hate to love
- Fake engagement
Crazy Love: the story
No Go Jin is the obnoxious boss. And obnoxious he very much is! He treats Lee Shin, who works as his secretary, terribly!
So it's no wonder that there comes a moment that she snaps. Also, she's told she's got cancer and will die soon. There's nothing like hearing you're gonna die to make you not care anymore about the consequences of your actions.
Lee Shin fights with No Go Jin
She goes to No Go Jins vacation home with a hammer and her letter of resignation. This results in a hilarious fight between them where Lee Shin gives as good as she gets.
After she storms off, No Go Jin gets hit by a car and lies mortally wounded on the road. Lee Shin gets worried, turns her car around and calls for help, thereby saving his life.
No Go Jin Amnesia
Then it turns out No Go Jin has amnesia!
Lee Shin sees his amnesia as an opportunity to get her revenge, because she still hates him. She tells him they're engaged, and makes him eat onions for one thing.
But wait a minute!
It turns out No Go Jin doesn't really have amnesia! He was faking it, to find out who want to murder him. After a while Lee Shin finds out he doesn't have amnesia. After which No Go Jin proceeds to blackmail her into doing his bidding.
All the time.
What's so great about Crazy Love?
I love the fact that it's kind of a crazy story, and the way No Go Jin and Lee Shin literally fight. Also Kim Jae Wook* (also known from Coffee Prince) is a great actor.
I really love the romance storyline and there's a lot of hugging.
Oddly enough, there's more hugging than kissing!
Love story on the back burner
Unfortunately around episode 14 I think it is, the love story is put on the backburner. It's like they thought:
'Lets neatly wrap up all the stories and characters.'
I kind of started forwarding through that bit.
But in the last episode it's more about No Go Jin and Lee Shin once more.
You even get to see them living happily ever after in domestic bliss : )
Crazy Love trailer
The Crazy Love trailer puzzles me. It's nice, but it doesn't really do justice to this Kdrama I think. For one thing, you never see them getting married in Crazy Love.
However it does show the crazy in this Kdrama.
Summing up: I recommend Crazy Love
Crazy Love is not as good as my favorite Kdrama Fated to love you, but it's kind of in the neighborhood! It's rated 8.3 on MyDramaList but I think it's worth an 8.9.
Also, I love Kdramas that use familiar tropes!
Watch Crazy Love
I watched Crazy Love on KissAsian but it's also available on Viki and Disney+!
*You can also see him in Her private life!
